Aircraft Graphite, Carbon Fiber Cloth, 38 square feet plus

 [Item # 15454]
 $189.99
Aircraft Graphite, Carbon Fiber Cloth, 38 square feet plus

Two pieces of Carbon Fiber / Graphite Cloth, one measuring approximately 114" X 44" and the second 44" X 12", (total just over 38 square feet).

  • It is woven cloth
  • Material weight is 12.4oz per sq yd
  • 0.019" thick
It is very RARE material in this thickness and very very expensive when you can find it (over $10 per square foot).
It is an excellent alternative to fiberglass and Kevlar, with great strength. It has very low density and is very stiff.
Even though it is quite costly, you only use one course of graphite cloth versus 3 to 4 of fiberglass. Carbon Fiber / Graphite weaves impregnated with either polyester or epoxy resins are widely used by manufacturers to cut production time on composite parts.
Graphite Carbon Cloth is one of the strongest and stiffest reinforcements available.
In addition to high strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratios, graphite carbon fibers are thermally and electrically conductive, have low thermal expansion coefficients, and have excellent fatigue resistance.

Some more of the properties of
    the graphite cloth are:

  • light and strong
  • withstands the most extreme temperatures
  • Chemically highly corrosion resistant
  • Very good electrical conductivity
  • High energy absorbing qualities
  • etc, etc.

Because of its great properties some of the
    wide use applications are:

  • General Aviation
    (widely used on high
    performance aircraft)
  • Military
    (several aircraft components
    and major aircraft structures)
  • Aerospace Industry
    (Space Shuttle tiles,
neutron moderator in nuclear technology, etc.)
  • Automobile Industry
    (Race car components and structures,
    also gaskets, brake linings, etc.)
  • Sports Equipment
    (high-performance golf clubs,
    tennis rackets, hockey sticks, etc.)
  • General Industry
(welding rods, coatings, most high duty
refractory bricks, and electric arc electrodes, etc.)
  • Computers
    (electrical components and circuitry)
  • Thousands of more applications

The Carbon Fiber pieces sold in this listing are the ends of two rolls and they have been folded and packaged and the material may have fold creases. Sold as is, no returns.
